Otter Valley Association – “Northern Heaths and River” A Heath Week walk: northwest via Benchams, Harpford Common, Woolcombes and Aylesbeare Common to Joneys Cross (for a coffee stop and see the Heath Week displays); return south-easterly over Colaton Raleigh common via Stoneyford, Naps Lane, Yonder Hill and the riverside path back to Newton Poppleford. We will wait for the arrival of buses from Sidmouth, Clyst St Mary or Budleigh, all expected around 9.50am, but sometimes a bit late! This event is free but booking via walk leader is appreciated. Know before you go… Distance 5.5 miles. Dogs on leads welcome. Dress for the weather, sturdy footwear recommended. Moderate terrain with a couple of hills. Leisurely pace.   This event is organised as part of Heath Week 2026. Heath Week celebrates our heathland heritage with a week of events reflecting the ecology, history and recreational importance of the Pebblebed Heaths National Nature Reserve.
