Heath Week 2026: Bat Walk

Bat Walk Join Devon Wildlife Trust and Devon Bat Group for the evening to find out more about the bats that live and hunt over DWT’s Bystock nature reserve. Having five different habitat types we have lots of different species to discover: we will be walking around with bat detectors so that we can both watch and listen to these amazing nocturnal mammals.   Know before you go… We will be walking around the reserve at night, so you will need walking boots, a torch and mosquito repellent. Some parts of the path are tricky underfoot with raised roots and pebbles to walk over. Sorry no dogs on this walk. No prior knowledge required.   This event is organised as part of Heath Week 2026. Heath Week celebrates our heathland heritage with a week of events reflecting the ecology, history and recreational importance of the Pebblebed Heaths National Nature Reserve.
